What is Healing Centered Engagement?
Healing Centered Engagement (HCE) was coined by Dr. Shawn Ginwright in 2018 to advance a new and effective way to support young people of color and their adult allies. It is an asset based, and culturally rooted approach to healing and well-being. The Healing Centered Engagement Practitioner Certification teaches school educators, administrators and youth development professionals how to address trauma by using healing centered practices and principles, in afterschool settings, schools and classrooms.
What will you learn with this course?
This course provides detailed information and concrete actions that answer not just the “why” but also the “how” of creating the best classroom and school support for young people and the school professionals who serve them. For more than 30 years, Dr. Ginwright and the Flourish Agenda team have put their whole hearts into this. This is love work!
